Things You'll Need:
- 1 bag assorted beads
- 20 inches memory wire
- Hot-glue sticks and glue gun
- 1 large rhinestone or sequin
- 8 inches ribbon or wire
-
Step 1
Place 10 beads onto the middle of the 20-inch wire. Bend the wire into two loops each about 2 inches in diameter. This forms the bottom of the wings. There should be 5 beads on each loop.
-
Step 2
Add 20 beads to the end of the wires, 10 beads on each side. Bend the wire to make two larger loops 4 to 5 inches in diameter. These loops make the top portion of the bookmark's butterfly wings.
-
Step 3
Wrap the nonbeaded wire around the middle wires of the loops to hold the wings together and make the body. Start wrapping at the bottom so you have the wires for the antennae already in position.
-
Step 4
Bend the two end pieces of wire into antennae at the top of the butterfly's body. Make a small loop at the end of each wire.
-
Step 5
Glue 1 small bead on the end of each antenna and then glue the large rhinestone or sequins onto the middle to create the body.
-
Step 6
Tie the end of the ribbon or wire to the bottom of the butterfly's body. This wire or ribbon is the part of the bookmark that is placed in the book.
