Creating a baby registry is a fun ritual and a way to organize your baby's necessities and fun-to-have lists in one place. Definitely create a baby registry if you are going to have a baby shower, so that your guests have ideas for what you need. As you make your baby registry, keep in mind the essentials and add fun extras after the basics are covered. Here's how to make a Babies "R" Us registry.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make a list of the gear and clothing items you need and would like to have for your new baby. If you already have some items, or have had some large items offered as hand-me-downs (such as a high chair or bouncy seat), cross them off your list to make room for things you still need.
Step2
Visit a Babies "R" Us store and ask an associate to assist you in setting up your baby registry. After filling out a form, you will receive a scanner to use in selecting your desired items. You can also begin your registry online from your computer.
Step3
Choose the main baby items, such as a car safety seat, baby carrier, nursery furniture and travel crib, from the selection at Babies "R" Us.
Step4
Add room decor items and a nursery bedding set, clothes and toys. Pick your favorites, being sure to coordinate the nursery items.
Step5
Remember practical things such as bottles, breast milk bags, feeding items and a first-aid kit.
Step6
Let your family and friends know where you're registered when they ask what you need. Be sure your baby shower hostess has the registry cards for the invitations.
