Step1
Attend the ski and snowboard school. Private and group lessons are available for beginners. For those with experience on the slopes, an advanced ski clinic is available. Squaw Valley offers a children's program with lessons for children as young as 3 years of age.
Step2
Ride the cable car 2,000 feet to High Camp. High Camp is open year-round. Activities available include swimming, ice skating in the Olympic pavilion and hiking. In the winter, ski lifts are open with breathtaking views.
Step3
Go dog sledding. A 1-hour dog sled tour will take you on a 2 1/2-mile trek through the meadows of Squaw Valley. Trips operate daily during the winter months. Another way to enjoy the scenery is a horse-drawn sleigh ride. They are also offered daily in the winter as long as the weather permits.
Step4
Watch an outdoor movie or concert. In the summer months, Squaw Valley has concerts at High Camp. They also have special events year-round. Check the Squaw Valley website for up-to-date event information.
Step5
Shop at Base Village. The village is at the base of the mountain and is home to several unique shops and plenty of places to dine. Special events are sometimes held at Base Village. Enjoy a little of the nightlife and visit one or more of the taverns.
Step6
Visit the Squaw Valley Adventure Center at Base Village. They offer a ropes course, rock-climbing wall and sky-jump bungee trampoline. For those who prefer to stay closer to the ground, there is an 18-hole miniature golf course. They also have special adventure programs, such as guided hikes and snowshoe tours.
