Your company can spend thousands of dollars on a marketing campaign but a point of purchase (POP) display will get the sales. POP is when the customer makes the decision to buy your product. Make it easy for them and choose an effective POP display.

1
Find a POP retailer. Shop around until you find a company you're comfortable dealing with. Look for a company that understands your business and is willing to work with you to create something new and exciting.
-
2
Check the prices of at least three major POP retailers before committing to anyone. Stay within your budget but recognize that cheaper isn't always better. Consider paying a little more for a better product.

3
Research the company you'll be buying from. If possible, visit the manufacturing facility to see if things run smoothly. At the very least, speak with a few of the company's existing customers. These testimonials can tell you a lot about a company.

4
Buy something that's easily assembled especially if you have more than one location. You'll have to rely on the people at the other store to set up this display so don't make it too complicated for them. They should be able to set it up quickly and correctly and get the merchandise out there for sale.

5
Consider where you'll put the display before you buy it. You don't want to end up with something too big or too small. It needs to be large enough to make a statement while leaving room for your other displays.

Tips & Warnings
Keep track of what you sell from the POP display. Know the cost effectiveness of the display and what things would make it better. Keep these in mind for your next POP display purchase.
Don't buy anything visually complex. The display must grab the customer's eye and get them to pick up the product. Your POP display should never overshadow the product-it should highlight it.
