Step 1
Look for possibilities at your place of employment. A new city usually comes with a new job. Explore your relationships at the office, as they may provide links to meeting single people. Although coworker dating is sometimes difficult, working in an office my provide social opportunities.
-
Step 2
Be a diverse social butterfly. The easiest way to score a date is to commit yourself to multiple social events a week. In a new city, these events should be varied in theme and style. Going to the bar every night may not be the best approach. Instead, go to the bar one night and then go bowling the next night.
-
Step 3
Search the Internet for blind dating, speed dating and meet-up programs in your new zip code. Include the name of your city and the word "dating" in the search engine. Many cities across the U.S. have a wide variety of dating options that are specific to that particular community. For example, New York City plays host to many speed-dating programs, and Austin, Texas, has an email blind date meet-up.
-
Step 4
Hang out in coffee shops. Wireless Internet and hot coffee usually lure singles from their homes, and most people tend to frequent the same locales over and over again. It may take a few happenstance meet-ups, but grabbing a cup of joe while you check your email has led to many happy partnerships.
-
Step 5
Let the date find you. Although we are always on the lookout for love, the irony is that you usually find a date when you stop looking. This is especially true in a new city. Concentrate on establishing yourself in the community, and the dates will come.

on 6/26/2008 Another way to find a date (whether you moved to a new city or always lived there) is to join a dating website. But why pay for sites such as match.com or date.com when you can join one for free? One such site is http:/www.LiveDateLove.com - 100% free. Try it, you have nothing to lose. Good luck!
