Most people want a clean house, but it's hard to find time to get it done right. Most people dread and postpone cleaning the house. Some simple steps can help you get it over with quickly and have home that looks like it was cleaned by a professional.

From Quick Guide: Let's Get House Cleaning
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleaning tools and products
  • Apron, caddy or bucket to carry supplies in
  1. Step 1

Remove clutter and put things away before cleaning.

  2. Step 2

Work around the room and around each object to be cleaned only once. Be sure not to retrace your steps. Carry all your supplies with you so that you won't have to go looking for them.

  3. Step 3

Clean with both hands. For example, you can clean the top of sink with one hand while wiping the inside with the other. One hand should be completing a step while the other is starting the next step.

  4. Step 4

Purchase professional tools and keep them in good shape. Stop using a tool when it isn't getting the job done. Find a different tool instead of taking a lot of time to try to get the one you have to work.

  5. Step 5

Put tools and cleaning materials back in the same place every time.

  6. Step 6

Focus on what you're doing. Don't daydream or stop to take breaks or work on other projects while you are cleaning.

  7. Step 7

Make note of problem areas or tools that need to be replaced. Keep track of your time and practice at getting faster.
