Step 1
Use fruit juices to treat oily skin. Apply juices from pineapples, tomatoes, cucumbers, limes, lemons or strawberries as a toner or cleanser. Mix the juices with yogurt or two egg whites for a light mask. Puree the ingredients and apply to your face. Remove after 10 minutes.
-
Step 2
Choose essential oils to use in masks and cleansers. Ylang Ylang, lemon and cedarwood are effective in fighting oil. For skin that is prone to acne, use cajeput, camphor, juniper berry, lavender and tea tree oil.
-
Step 3
Experiment with other food products to blend with your cleansers and masks. Egg whites are good for oily skin. Crushed nuts can be used in scrubs to refine pores and fight blackheads. Milk and coconut milk are good gentle cleansers for oily skin. Cornstarch or yeast can be added to masks to make them thicker.
-
Step 4
Create a quick daily cleanser with 2 teaspoons almond meal and 150 ml water. Blend the mixture for two minutes. Strain it through a cheesecloth into a bottle or container. Let it dry on your skin to use as a toner. Wipe it off with a washcloth to use as a cleanser.
-
Step 5
Apply plain, unflavored milk of magnesia to your face. Let it dry. Rinse with a cool washcloth after 10-15 minutes.
-
Step 6
Mix one part earth clay or green clay to two parts water. Add a teaspoon of honey and the essential oil of your choice. Apply the mask. After 15 minutes, rinse with a steamed washcloth. Use the mask once a week.
