How to Be Physically Fit
Physical fitness has so many benefits, it's a wonder that more people don't work to achieve it. Physically fit people get sick less often, suffer less depression, sleep better and perform better at work. In the time it takes to watch an hour of television, you can complete a daily fitness regimen.

1
Accept that a large part of being fit consists of living right. This means eating healthy foods, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep. Stay away from cigarettes and cigars, and drink in moderation. No amount of exercise can make up for an unhealthy lifestyle.
-
2
Get some aerobic exercise every day. This means doing a sustained activity that elevates your heart rate for about 30 minutes. Good choices are running, walking, and swimming laps.
-
-
3
Lift some weights two to three times a week. You can do this with barbells and dumbbells, with gym equipment or just your own bodyweight by doing exercises like sit-ups and push-ups.
-
4
Take up a sport or get involved in a hobby that involves some physical work such as gardening or ballroom dancing.
-
5
Maintain your flexibility by stretching after each exercise session.
-
6
Do something rather than nothing. If something comes up that prevents you from your regular exercises, take a walk around the block or climb a few stairs at the office.
-
7
Turn off the TV and get up from the computer. Take the advice every parent gives to children; go outside and play

Tips & Warnings
Don't worry too much about your heart rate or how many reps you're doing in the weight room. Focusing too much on a particular number can cause you to lose your motivation.
Always check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine to make sure you don't have any medical problems that can make exercise dangerous.
