Many people attach all types of files when sending emails for work or fun. It's often time consuming task, and you can use many methods to speed up the file attachment process. If you're trying to manage your time more wisely, follow these steps to attach a file faster.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Notice that by default all Microsoft applications remember the place you last tried to attach a file from and will go straight to that directory. This feature may work well for you, but only if you send files only from that directory.
Step2
Click on "File" and "Open." Click on the directory you'd like fast access to.
Step3
Choose "Tools." Click on "Add to My Places."
Step4
Note that there's a shortcut to that directory now on your side bar. You can instantly access it.
Step5
Reorder the items on your side bar if you want. All you need to do is right click.

Tips & Warnings

  • For other applications, create directory shortcuts and put them on your Desktop.
  • This method also works well for saving files faster.
  • If a file seems to take a long time to upload, it may be because it's a large file. For large files you may want to create a compressed or zip file.
  • If you send a lot of files on the web, numerous online file sending services are now available. They allow you to send large or numerous files. You can also track and secure their delivery.
  • For some reason, this feature only works with Microsoft Office applications.
