Step 1
Surf your way to cheaper video games. There are dozens of websites that offer video games for sale. There may also be listings on Craigslist and your local classifieds.
-
Step 2
Find a second-hand store in your city. There are shops that sell used video games, books and DVDs at a discounted price. The owners typically check the quality of the games before accepting them, so they're likely to be in good shape.
-
Step 3
Look on the re-sale racks at gaming stores. Most shops that sell new video games also sell used ones at a discounted rate.
-
Step 4
Check out movie and gaming rental stores. When a new game comes out on the market, the older ones are usually pulled off the shelves. They are then sold at a discount.
-
Step 5
Drive around on the weekends and scope out garage sales. You may get lucky and find some. Everything at a garage sale is cheap.
-
Step 6
Save money by trading in your old video games for new ones. Most of the major gaming stores have programs like this.

on 10/30/2009 Make sure you check out the condition of the disc before purchase. I own a used DVD and game store and the rental places sell garbage. Even if it works it has no resale because they are usually so scratched. Think about it how careful are people with something they don't own(rentals). At a minimum ask the clerk if you can see the disc before purchase. Scooter
