Located in beautiful Chester, New Hampshire, Chester College of New England was originally founded in 1965. Since that time, it has grown immensely and in 1998, completely switched its focus to becoming a school that specializes in professional arts programs for liberal and fine arts. So if you love New England, and want to pursue dreams that have an artistic horizon, then you must consider Chester College of New England.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Swing by chestercollege.edu and begin to browse the site. It's extremely comprehensive and covers everything from admissions, to financial aid, to student life, faculty, alumni and more. It's a great way to begin to familiarize yourself with the college.
Step2
Take the virtual tour. Located under the "about us" tab, click on "online tour." An awesome map of the campus pops up. You can then click on each building. A blurb about the building as well as some truly gorgeous pictures pops up. Browse around and get to know the campus.
Step3
Contact the Admissions Department and schedule your tour. They can be reached at (800) 974-6372. They give individual tours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. They also have Open Houses from time to time. (Usually at least one held in November.) So inquire about that as well.
Step4
Plan travel to the Chester College of New England. The site has a "directions" tab, which is quite comprehensive and offers directions for multiple New England locations. If you are flying in to check out the school, Boston's Logan airport or Manchester's regional airport are going to be your best bet. From there you'll want to rent a car and follow the driving directions. For hotels, check out Expedia.com and plug in nearby Manchester, as it is the nearest "major" city.
Step5
Arrive and take your tour of Chester College of New England. Because it is an arts school, the admissions process is a little different. While your grades must be up to par, you also must demonstrate a real knack for your art. Therefore, a portfolio is required showing your work. Be sure to get the specifics of the portfolio from the admissions office during your tour. It's a great way to ask questions and read between the lines about what they are "really" looking for in each artistic discipline.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ask if you can audit a class. The inspiration derived from your teachers is of utmost importance when going to an artistic school.
