Sometimes couples reach a point where sex can become routine. Often couples point to lack of excitement in the bedroom as a key in the decline of the relationship. While not a cure-all, sexual experimentation can reinvigorate a person's love life and this is true for people in any stage of a relationship. Trying new sexual positions such as the lotus is not just for couples stuck in a romantic rut.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have the man position themselves in a sitting position. The placement of the legs can be extended or crossed. The crossed leg position can be uncomfortable for some.

  2. Step 2

Position the receiver in the lap of their partner. Insertion should be accomplished during the act of sitting in the partners lap. However, the act of insertion can come afterward with some maneuvering.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the legs of the receiver around the partner. Do not wrap them too tightly but enough where the entire body weight is not pressing down on the partners lap.

  4. Step 4

Rock the hips together in a mild riding motion. Start slowly at first and then vary the pace as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure that there is sufficient lubrication before penetration.
  • The lotus position can be a precursor to many other positions.
  • The lotus position is especially good for facilitating a female orgasm.
  • When undertaking any new sexual position, please consult a physician if there are any health concerns.
