Tiaras are usually reserved for pageants. With small, decorative tiaras you can be queen for a day or for at least a few hours. If you need a style for the prom, holidays or a wedding, a tiara may be the answer. The hair clips easily dress up short hair styles. No beautician is needed. Practice these steps to learn different ways to use tiaras with short hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Spray a small amount of hair spray to the crown of the head to add lift to the hair. Let the hair dry.

  2. Step 2

Do a slight side sweep with the hair. Know that the hair should act as a backdrop to the tiara. View the headpiece as part of the hairstyle instead of a separate piece. Make sure the hair and comb are in place before inserting the tiara clip. Slide the comb in gently and carefully.

  3. Step 3

Understand that the tiara should be worn on the crown of the head instead of toward the front of the head.

  4. Step 4

Take the hair on the sides of the head and sideburns and pin them back to add an extra touch. Make sure the tiara stays straight.

  5. Step 5

Prepare to use a smaller clip crown to dress up your short hair. Know the hair should be pulled upward so you can't see through the tiara. Understand that you will put it where the lift meets the flattened hair of the front. Make sure the tiara is centered.

  6. Step 6

Add a decorative flattened clip to the area where the lift meets the other hair. Tuck hair on the sides of your head behind your ears.

Tips & Warnings
  • Select a tiara that does not overpower the rest of your clothing and accessories.
