How to Get a Disney Pen Pal

Many children are lonely. If your child loves Disney--and there aren't too many who don't--find him a Disney pen pal. This will be an advantage to the child in many ways. The following will help you get started.

Instructions

    • 1

Clarify the possibilities. Determine your child's likes and dislikes of the Disney characters. You must decide if your child would like to correspond with other Princess fans, Mickey fans, Goofy fans or just Disney fans in general.

    • 2

Encourage your child to write. The more the child writes the more it will benefit him. Although he may not write conventionally to the other child, it still will help him in school.

    • 3

Check your local library. Many libraries are set up to encourage writing, and finding pen pals for students is one of their specialties. Inquire if they have Disney pen pals available for your child to write to.

    • 4

Talk to your child's teacher. Some teachers are using pen pals as a way to help their students grow. They may know of some that are Disney fans too. They can possibly set your child up with a Disney pen pal.

    • 5

Go online to the official Disney pen pal site--the link is in the Resource section below. This site is only for children or adults who are at least 16. However, there are other sites that have no age requirement where you can get Disney pen pals. A couple of them are in the Resource section.

    • 6

Correspond with a pen pal and it will help your child increase their verbal and written skills. They can also learn about email and how to take care of their inbox and printing. The important thing is that it's encouraging to find their interests broaden and corresponding with a Disney pen pal--especially one from another country--is very educational.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although you may think that writing to a pen pal will be better for your child, consider the learning they will achieve by using the Internet.

  • Be aware of what your child is doing when they are on the computer.
