Instructions

    • 1

Select heavy duty macramé cord in a color that suits your decor or the decor of the person you are making the plant holder for.

    • 2

Cut 6 long pieces of the macramé cord. Make your cord about 5 times as long as you'd like your plant holder to be.

    • 3

Fold the 6 pieces of cord in half so that you end up with 12 strands. Then slip a large metal ring at the fold and tie the cords together under it using a grouped overhand knot. Then divide the cords into 3 groups of 4. Pin 1 group of cords to a knotting board.

    • 4

Square knot 2 knots below the beginning knots, loose enough so you still see the design. Make 3 new groups of 4 cords from the remaining 3 original groups. Tie 3 knots in each of the new groups.

    • 5

Put pins in the board to hold the loops evenly and tie 1 more square knot. Tie all of the cords together using an overhand style knot at the ends. Place your flower pot in the inside of your new macramé plant holder.
