How to Write a Math Test
You're worried that you won't to do well on your math test so you want to be prepared. You know your material but you aren't sure how to tackle the test. Follow these tips to write a math test with the best results possible.

Be prepared. Bring an eraser, a pencil, a ruler, and a calculator if it's allowed. You don't want to arrive at the test without the necessary resources.

Study ahead of time. Don't wait until the last minute. Study your formulas and your techniques for working through questions well ahead of them.

Memorize the formulas you will need. When you enter the room, flip the test over and write down the formulas before you even look at the test. Now you don't have to worry about forgetting anything.

Write BEDMAS at the top of the sheet. Do your calculations in this order: brackets, exponents, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction. You can switch the addition and subtraction. You can switch the multiplication and the division. Everything else must stay in the same order.

Spend a couple of minutes per question. Go through the whole test and circle the easy questions. Do these questions first.

Use the back of the sheet for rough work. You can work out your problems on the back or on a spare sheet of paper. Double-check your work.

Include all rough work when you hand in the test because you might get partial credit for work shown even if you get the wrong answer.

Read the questions carefully. Read them twice before you begin. Make sure you understand what is asked. Then do the calculations and double- check your answers.

Recheck all your calculations again when you are done with the whole test. Check for mistakes in your addition or subtraction while you're calculating formulas.
