How to Open Multiple Email Accounts in Netscape

Once you have created your Netscape email account you can open additional accounts by setting up various user profiles. Each secondary account can have its own user name, password and email address. Follow these simple guidelines for opening multiple email accounts in Netscape.

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Microsoft Windows 98 or higher
  • Macintosh OS X (v10.1 or higher)
  • Latest version of Netscape
  • Internet service provider
  1. Step 1

    Install Netscape on your computer so you can open a Netscape email account.

  2. Step 2

    Double-click on the Netscape icon to activate the program. Choose "Mail and Newsgroups" from the Window menu to open the program's mail section. Go to the "Edit" menu and select "Mail and Newsgroups Accounts Settings." Click "Add Account."

  3. Step 3

    Select "Email Account" and "Next."

  4. Step 4

    Create a user profile by entering your name in the "Real Name" field just as you want it to appear when someone receives email from you. For example, someone might enter "Mary Smith."

  5. Step 5

    Add your email address in the "Return Address" field. For example, Ms. Smith's email address would read: marysmith@netscape.com.

  6. Step 6

    Enter "mail.netscape.com" in the POP Incoming Server field and "smtp.netscape.com" in the Outgoing Server field.

  7. Step 7

    Log in to your Netscape email account by going to netscape.aol.com and entering your Username and Password.

  8. Step 8

    Repeat Steps 2 through 5 to open multiple email accounts in Netscape. Generate a separate user profile for each additional account.

  9. Step 9

    Perform a test run by sending and downloading emails.
