How to Delete a Message in Netscape Email

After a few months of emails going back and forth, you might find that your inbox is overflowing, and you can't find the important messages you need. It's time to clean house. No matter which mail program you are using, deleting messages is as easy as clicking your mouse. Here are some guidelines for deleting a message in Netscape

      Double-click on the Netscape icon to open the mail program.

      View the list of your Netscape email messages and decide which ones you want to delete.

      Delete the selected message one of three ways. With the message highlighted, right-click and select "Delete." You also can click on the "Delete" icon at the top of the page. Or you can choose "Delete" from the "Edit" menu. All three methods will automatically send the deleted message to the trash or the "Deleted Items" folder.

      Empty your deleted messages in Netscape by right-clicking on the "Deleted Items" or "Trash" icon and selecting "Empty Deleted Items Folder." Click "Yes" when asked if you are sure you want to empty the folder. Click "No" if you decide not to delete the Netscape/AOL email message.

Tips & Warnings

  • Messages marked for deletion are left in the "Trash" or "Deleted Items" folder until that folder is purged.

  • Generally, when you delete a message in Netscape it is deleted from the server.
