Feel like your fish are boring. Teach them some tricks. You can train your fish to perform just as you would your dog or cat. All they need is the right incentives and a patient teacher.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a tank size to train your pet fish in. Your tank should hold at least 3 gallons of water. Bigger is better.

  2. Step 2

Be sure your fish are healthy. The healthier the fish the better chance you have to train them.

  3. Step 3

Determine what tricks you want your fish to learn, such as swimming through hoops, jumping and playing soccer.

  4. Step 4

Show your fish the food. Like humans, fish want to see the reward before they attempt a task. You might want to separate the fish that you are trying to train so that there is not a feeding frenzy when you show them the food.

  5. Step 5

Practice one trick at a time, do not try to overwhelm your fish or yourself by attempting to teach him more than one trick at a time. Also, you do not want to over feed him with the rewards.

  6. Step 6

Amaze your friends and family by showing them the first trick in a series of tricks that you are your pet fish are now trained to do.
