How to Throw a Women Only Super Bowl Party

There's no rule that women can't throw their own Super Bowl party. Chicken wings and cheap beer can be swapped out for more feminine cuisine that's still in keeping with the spirit of the big game. What better way to reconnect with your girlfriends than by bonding over Chardonnay, shrimp cocktail and tales of your favorite quarterback.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Pre-Game Preparation

Step1
Set up a buffet table with a bucket of ice for chilling drinks. Add pretty paper plates, napkins and flatware for easy clean up.
Step2
Keep hot dips, such as a spinach-artichoke or parmesan-crab dip warm in a crock pot so your guests can help themselves all evening.
Step3
Dress up traditional chicken wings with an exotic sweet and sour sauce. Cook them the day before and reheat for the big game.
Step4
Make sure there's enough seating for all your guests. Throw oversized pillows on the floor if needed.

Game Time Food

Step1
Serve a platter of fresh vegetables and hummus along with bakery quality bread. This is an easy and figure-friendly appetizer to make.
Step2
Wow your guests with a tray of smoked seafood served with diced red onion, capers, cream cheese and assorted crackers.
Step3
Serve your favorite cocktail, but rename it in honor of the Super Bowl, such as a Patriots Mimosa or a Seahawks Sea Breeze. Be creative.
Step4
Skip baking and order decadent individual desserts, such as éclairs, cream puffs or gourmet brownies.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that if your guests are drinking they don't plan on driving. Arrange for a designated driver, or better yet, make it a Super Bowl sleepover.
