Understand what Yahoo Launchcast is and what it does. Yahoo Launchcast is an online radio service brought to you by Yahoo that plays music based upon selected preferences and rankings. While you listen to the music played on your personal station, you rate the music. Based on your ratings, Yahoo will play songs that were rated similarly by other users.

Go to the Yahoo website. Once you are on the Yahoo homepage, click on "Music" in the left hand column sidebar. On the next page, click on "customize my station" in the upper navigational panel.

Select your favorite genres of music. The genres of music that you select are the areas of music that are played on your personal Yahoo Launchcast station. You can choose as many or as few stations as you like.

Add your favorite artists. Below the genres of music, there is a place for you to enter your favorite artists. While this step isn't mandatory, it can help Yahoo figure out what type of music you like.
