Many people are searching for toys that are made in America after the large number of recalls of imported toys. America's standards and regulations are high when it comes to safety. Many parents find they are now willing to spend a little more to buy "Made in America" to insure safety for their children.

From Quick Guide: Find the Right Toy
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out the How to Buy American website (see Resources) for a list of American made toys. The website has links to several other additional websites that sell American made toys.

  2. Step 2

Buy from American Plastic Toys, Inc. All of their products are made in the USA. This company sells a variety of toys from doll accessories to riding toys and wagons.

  3. Step 3

Look for classic wooden toys--many American companies manufacture this type of toy. Holgate Toys is the classic wooden toy company Mr. Fred Rogers trusted with his Mister Rogers' Neighborhood toy line.

  4. Step 4

Feel free to contact a specific toy company and ask for a complete list of toys that are manufactured in America. Be reassured that you are not the first to ask for this question. The popular toy company, Step2, has two extensive list of products that are "Made in U.S.A." and "Made in U.S.A. with US and imported parts."

  5. Step 5

Check out the resources if you are looking for wooden trains for wooden train track sets. All Whittle Shortline Toys work with these types of tracks and are made in America. They proudly display that their toys are 100 percent "kid-safe" with lead free paint on their website.
