Purchase a quality espresso machine. There are many espresso machines on the market. They range in price and quality. Buy the best quality that you can afford.

Buy a superior espresso coffee. Your coffee drinks are only as good as the espresso beans that you purchase. If you do not have a local source, several online are available for fresh roasted espresso beans.

Learn to make shots of espresso. Follow the directions of your espresso machine. Use filtered cold water and your espresso beans.

Fill a heat safe cup with milk. Use whole milk as it froths the best.

Heat the espresso machine. Your milk is frothed with steam from your machine. Ensure that it is ready to produce steam.

Insert froth attachment into the milk. Make sure it is fully covered.

Turn the espresso machine to the froth or steam option. It will make a hissing noise. Move the cup of milk around in a circle. Make sure that the froth attachment does not come out of the milk.

Move the selector of the espresso machine to "off." You can then remove your now frothed milked. Never expose the tip of the steamer when it is running; it releases steam at high pressure, and you could be seriously burned.

Create an Americano. An Americano is a shot of espresso and six to eight ounces of hot water. It is very similar to an American cup of coffee.

Turn out a cappuccino. A cappuccino is a shot of espresso with six to eight ounces of frothed steamed milk added to it.

Mix a latte. A latte is a single shot of espresso. You then add six to eight ounces of steamed milk. Hold back the milk froth until the end.

Put together a café mocha. A café mocha is a latte with chocolate syrup added to the shot of espresso, before adding the steamed milk.
