How to Gain an Employer's Trust
One of the keys to being successful in a job is being trusted by your employer. An employer who trusts you is more likely to depend on you, give you more workplace responsibilities and recommend you for advancement or commendation. Gaining an employer's trust will also help you enjoy your job more.

Arrive on time. Showing up to work on time is one of the basic requirements of any job, and being on time every time will show your employer that you take responsibility for yourself, you manage time well, and that you value and take pride in your job.

Fulfill all of your job requirements. Most of us have aspects of our job that we enjoy less than others. It might be monthly audits, inventory or any other task that we just don't like doing no matter how enjoyable the job is overall. Do not complain about these tasks, procrastinate over completing them or try to pass them off to another employee. Your employer could interpret this behavior as irresponsible or lazy, and he will be less likely to trust you.

Help fellow employees. If there is a new employee in the workplace, offer to show them around and help them get acquainted with things. If another worker is having a difficult time with a task, lend them a hand. This will show your employer that you are invested in the well-being of the company as a whole.

Volunteer when you can. Another way to show your employer that you are dependable and trustworthy is by going above and beyond your regular duties. Offer to work holiday shifts that no one else wants to work. Don't hesitate to stay late in order to complete a project or offer to work overtime if there is a staff shortage.
