Cyberspace is cluttered with information on everything from pipe-fitting to dishwashing, but remembering where you've been--and how to get back there--can be a frustrating task. There are a few tools you can use to help you in your journey back to those favorite websites, making your travel through cyberspace more pleasurable.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure the web browser you use has bookmarking capabilities. All of the major ones, such as Firefox, Netscape and Internet Explorer do, but a few slimmed down versions may not.

  2. Step 2

Click on "Add to Favorites" which appears as two green and yellow stars in newer versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, when you want to bookmark a favorite website (URL).

  3. Step 3

Click on the yellow star in newer versions of Internet Explorer for a list of your bookmarked URLs, and select the one you want to visit.

  4. Step 4

Use a wallet or other software that not only saves the location of the URL for you, but also remembers all of your user names and passwords connected with specific sites. The good ones, such as those listed below, are heavily encrypted and pretty much keep your information free from cyber intruders.

  5. Step 5

Click on "yes" if Internet Explorer asks you if you want it to "remember" your sign-on information if you would like to have IE enter all of the essential information for you the next time you visit a password-protected website. IE will fill in your user name and password the next time you visit the site.
