While huge, towering Christmas trees are wonderful sights during the holidays, there are many reasons you may be in need of a miniature version. Whether you are going to put small trees in every room of your house, or you just have a small space for your tree this year, let your creativity flow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cut the top off or a particularly full branch from a pine tree in your yard or in the woods. Tie it to a metal post and hang tiny twinkling lights and decorations made from old jewelry or brightly wrapped Christmas candy.

  2. Step 2

Rely on the old stand-by Reader's Digest tree to make a miniature tree. Fold each page in half and tape the covers together so that the magazine forms a tree shape. Spray paint the tree with glittery white paint and let it dry before painting or gluing your decorations onto it.

  3. Step 3

Roll a piece of heavy construction paper into a cone and tape it together. Place a small wooden dowel in a bowl filled with sand and sit the cone upside down on top of the dowel, with the wooden stick inside the cone. Color the paper before you use it with Christmas sayings or glue sequins on it after it is up.

  4. Step 4

Use green pipe cleaners to craft a miniature Christmas tree. Stick the first pipe cleaner in a small pot with sand, then cut and wrap other pipe cleaners on the "trunk" to form the branches. Sprinkle with glitter and hang tiny homemade decorations from the branches.
