School's out for the summer, and it's time to figure out what to do with the kids during their school hiatus. If your child is interested in the arts, look into enrolling your child into an art camp. Art camps offer activities that help to build your child's imagination and explore her artistic skills.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Determine if you want a day camp or an overnight camp. If you are sending a young child to camp, you may feel more comfortable choosing a day camp. Older children, on the other hand, may learn more from an overnight camp. The experience of immersing a child in an artistic environment 24 hours a day can help to bring out your child's inner muse.
Step2
Compute how much you're willing to spend. Art camps for kids vary in price. When evaluating the price, review the programs offered to get a feel for whether or not they're worth the money. Just because an art camp is expensive doesn't mean that it's better than a less expensive camp. Do your homework.
Step3
Pinpoint your child's interest. There are all kinds of art camps for kids. Some art camps specialize in acting while others specialize in music or dance. Know your child's interest, and look for a camp that challenges and build upon his creative interest.
Step4
Attend an open house. Camps offer open houses to allow parents to tour the premises and find out more about the program. Visiting an open house can help you feel more comfortable if you're thinking of sending your child to an overnight camp. Seeing where your child eats and sleeps can put you at ease.
Step5
Get references. Before you enroll your child in an art camp, check all references. Speak to other parents whose children have attended the camp.
