Fly the coup and create a flock of hens and chicks using a bit of yellow dye and felt scraps. To make a hen, take a white egg and attach a beak and feet made from orange felt. Use a piece of red felt for the hen's head, and finish the look by using a black marker to make dot eyes. For the chicks, dye smaller eggs yellow and complete them with a bit of orange felt and black eyes.

Hatch a nest of baby bluebirds by coloring eggs in various shades of blue. Glue on blue crepe-paper wings and an orange beak made from construction paper. Use a black marker to make eyes. Set the birds in a nest made from brown shredded paper.

Tips & Warnings
Instead of boiling your eggs, try discarding the yolk instead. This way, you can preserve what you make. Simply poke a hole in each end of the egg and, using a straightened paper clip, scramble the yolk so that it comes out easier. Place a bulb syringe in one of the holes and squeeze.
