Mink oil is an effective moisturizer that will nourish dry and brittle hair and restore it to a beautiful silky, shiny condition. It is also great for skin and will soothe a dry and itchy scalp. Making your own mink oil shampoo is easy and requires very few ingredients. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 4 tea bags peppermint tea
  • 4 tea bags chamomile tea
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp. liquid Castile soap
  • 2 tsp. mink oil
  • Container with tightly-fitting lid
  • 1/3 cup natural honey
  • 3 tbsp. Castile soap
  • 3 tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. rosemary essential oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. witch hazel
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. mink oil
  • 1 tbsp. cologne (optional)
  • Glass jar with screw top
  • 1/2 cup liquid Castile soap
  • 1/2 cup clear aloe vera gel
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 tsp. glycerine

Instructions

  1. Scalp Soothing Mink Oil Shampoo

      Boil the water in a small saucepan.

    • 2

      Remove the saucepan from the burner and allow the tea bags to steep until the water cools to room temperature.

      Remove the tea bags and add the liquid Castile soap and mink oil. Mix well.

      Pour the mink oil shampoo into the container, seal it and store it at room temperature.

    Mink Oil Shampoo with Honey and Egg

      Put the glass jar in freshly boiled water to sterilize.

      Put all of the ingredients in the glass jar.

      Tighten the lid securely.

      Shake until all of the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

    Mink Oil Moisturizing Shampoo

      Put all of the ingredients in a small mixing bowl.

      With a mixer or hand blender, mix until completely blended.

      Pour the ingredients into the container and seal tightly.

      Shake well before each use.
