1
Know which type of kung fu you are practicing. Different strains of kung fu such as proforce, tiger or traditional sometimes wear slightly different uniforms, and each individual club may have a separate dress code.
-
2
Have an outfit that fits with your personal tastes. There are many different styles, such as the dragon or frog button and a choice between modern or traditional dress. Wear the style of outfit that you prefer and feel most comfortable in.

3
Dress according to the occasion. If you are doing some routine training, wear your basic pant and shirts combo and save your traditional silk ensemble for important events and competitions.
-
4
Wear the right size uniform. Nothing will inhibit your movements more than an over-sized uniform that will have extra material to get in the way and overly long arms and legs. Your uniform should be loose enough to move easily in all directions but at the same time with tight enough elastic to hold up.

5
Accessorize your uniform with different colors. Nylon sashes are an excellent way to do this as they come in every color imaginable. You can even have a selection of colors for different events or positions you attain.
