How to Collect Willow Tree Angels
There are times in our lives when we want to mark a significant milestone or special moment that we don't want to forget. Search the main Willow Tree Web site for all the different angels artist Susan Lordi has created since 2000. Some may have special meaning to your own life. The Angel of Healing may have special meaning to someone who has been battling an illness, for example, or the Angel of Learning may be perfect for someone who is getting a college degree. Make a list of which ones seem to stick out to you in a personal way. When someone asks you what you want for a birthday or Christmas present, pull out the list.

Get to know the artist. Susan Lordi, an award-winning artist from Kansas City who developed this series of small sculptures based on her own observations of human life and relationships. Angels, Lordi says, are figures that, "Regardless of personal conviction ... seem to provide comfort to those searching for answers in a world with so many unknowns." Go to your local card or stationery store and inquire about the collection. Willow Tree angels are being sold nationwide at many fine gifts stores. You can also go to the Demdaco store locator listed on the website to find a store closest to you or call Demdaco at (888) 336-3226.

Find a place to display your collection. Many Willow Tree collectors see their collection multiply almost overnight. Because the figurines are readily available and great for gifts (they can express an emotion in a personal, tangible way) they will quickly add up. A wall shelf, curio cabinet or bookcase may be ideal. Keep in mind the simple nature of the faceless sculptures and don't choose a shelf that would take away from their natural effect.

When your shelf begins to overflow, consider other items in the Willow Tree line that can be displayed in different rooms and in other ways to complement the collection. Items include tree ornaments, plaques (decorative stands are also available), memory boxes, tapestries and stationary.

Tips & Warnings
Each figurine comes with a card printed with its name (for example, "Angel of Caring"). It is a good idea to keep this card and write on it the occasion when you bought or received the angel as a gift. The name is also printed on the bottom of each figurine and you can mark a date on the bottom with a permanent marker.
