Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bottom of a double boiler with water and bring to a boil. Heat 2 oz. of beeswax, 3 oz. of sweet almond oil, 1oz. of jojoba oil and 1/2 oz. of canola oil, stirring constantly until the wax melts. It is important that you use a double boiler, as beeswax can ignite when exposed to direct heat.

    • 2

Allow the mixture to cool, checking for consistency when near room temperature. If you would like your natural aphrodisiac salve to be a bit thicker, place the mixture on the double boiler and add a bit more beeswax. If your salve is too thick, you can add a bit more sweet almond oil.

    • 3

Find your preferred consistency, and once again allow the mixture to cool. While still warm, but not hot, add 10 drops of vanilla essential oil. While vanilla is not an aphrodisiac, it is often considered a very "sexy" scent, and will help to balance the woody aromas of the other oils included in your salve.

    • 4

Add ten drops of cardamom essential oil, ten drops of patchouli essential oil and ten drops of sandalwood essential oil. Cardamom, patchouli and sandalwood are the active aromas in your salve, all three natural and powerful aphrodisiacs with gentle woodsy aromas.

    • 5

Stir the ingredients thoroughly and pour the salve mixture into jars while still warm. Allow the salve to cool completely before sealing the jars.

Tips & Warnings

  • Apart from being a natural aphrodisiac, your salve has multiple uses. You can apply the salve directly to dry itchy skin, wear a dab on the neck and wrists as a perfume or cologne, or use it as a soothing and healing lip balm.
