Start Microsoft PowerPoint. Open an existing presentation that contains a slide that you would like to add a shape to or start a new presentation where you can insert a shape.

    • 2

Open the drawing toolbar by choosing the "View" menu, pointing to "Toolbars" and clicking on "Drawing" if there is not a checkmark in front of it. Your drawing toolbar should now open somewhere on your PowerPoint screen. If there is already a checkmark in front of "Drawing," your drawing toolbar is already open.

Select the shape that you want to add to PowerPoint by clicking on the shape.

    • 5

Use your mouse to click onto the slide where you would like your shape to appear. The shape will be added to your PowerPoint slide.
