Instructions

    • 1

Cover your work area with a plastic sheet or other protective material. Alcohol and essential oils can damage delicate surfaces, so be sure to protect your work surface and be careful to prevent spills.

    • 2

Combine 2 cups of distilled water and 3 tbsp. of vodka in a measuring cup with a pour spout.

    • 3

Add 12 drops of peony essential oil, eight drops of sandalwood essential oil and five drops of musk essential oil to the measuring cup.

    • 4

Place four drops of glycerin in your peony cologne. Glycerin is a fixative that will ensure that your cologne retains its aroma for the longest time possible.

    • 5

Stir the ingredients and test your cologne. You may add more essential oil, one drop at a time, until you find your perfect scent.

    • 6

Pour your peony cologne carefully into a dark glass bottle with a tight fitting lid. Shake the bottle and place it in a cool dry location. Allow your cologne to settle for one full week before using.

Tips & Warnings

  • Fragrance oils are generally less expensive than essential oils and can be used instead. Be sure to test fragrance oils before purchase, as quality may vary.
