Instructions

    • 1

Harvest several bunches of fresh honeysuckle and trim all of the stems and leaves. You will need about 1 cup to make your perfume.

    • 2

Place a piece of cheesecloth in a bowl so that they edges hang over the rim of the bowl. Place 1 cup of honeysuckle flowers on the bottom of the bowl, on top of the cheesecloth, and pour 2 cups of water into the bowl. Make sure that the flowers are completely covered with water.

    • 3

Cover the bowl with a plate and allow the honeysuckle to soak in the water overnight. The next day, gently gather the edges of the cheesecloth and tie a knot.

    • 4

Pour the water with the honeysuckle cheesecloth into a cooking pot and allow the liquid to simmer until there is only about 1 tsp. left. Allow the perfume to cool and carefully pour the liquid into a dark glass bottle with a tight fitting lid.

    • 5

Add 3 or 4 drops of glycerine to the honeysuckle perfume, which will make the scent last longer. Secure the lid and store your perfume in the refrigerator. If double the recipe, be sure to make only enough perfume to last two or three months, as this natural fragrance contains no preservative.
