How to Change a Graphic to Low-Resolution in FrontPage
Because some people have slow Internet connections or other computer issues, they may have problems loading all of your high-resolution graphics when trying to view your website. When a visitor encounters this, there is a good chance that she may get frustrated and leave. If you provide low-resolution graphic alternatives, the low-resolution graphic will be used when a slow connection is detected. Start Microsoft FrontPage. Open an existing document from your files that contains a picture that you would like to change to low resolution, when needed.

Switch to "Design" or "Split" view, if necessary, so you can view your picture and change the properties. Do this by clicking on the "Design" or "Split" button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Right-click on the picture you want to change to low resolution and choose "Picture Properties" to open the "Picture Properties" dialog box.

Click the "General" tab at the top of the "Picture Properties" dialog box.

Use your mouse to click the "Browse..." button by the "Low-Res" text box under the "Alternative Representations" section of the "Picture Properties" dialog box.

Browse your files to choose a low-resolution graphic that you would like to have appear instead of your normal graphic, when needed.

Select the file and click "Open" in the "Select Alternate Picture" dialog box. Click "OK" to close the "Picture Properties" dialog box and change the graphic to low-resolution.

Tips & Warnings
To insert an image into Microsoft FrontPage, choose the "Insert" menu, point to "Picture" and choose to insert an image from your files or Microsoft clip art.
Not all web browsers will recognize the low-resolution attribute you have chosen for your image.
