2. Compare the programs. Find out what is being offered. For example, how many miles do you get with each paid airfare or how many nights do you have to stay at a hotel before you get a free room?

4. Sign up to join the frequent traveler programs that you have chosen.
5. Provide your name, address and all other information to the company sponsoring the travel program.
6. Ask if the company will be sending you a card and how long it will take before you will receive the card. The company should provide a temporary member number that you can use immediately when making your reservations.
