You also must purchase a tourist card for about $10 when you arrive. You need U.S. dollars for this. Coins, traveler's checks and credit cards are not accepted. No ATMs will be available until after you have pass through the immigration area. You will be given half of the card back, which you need to put in a safe place to use again when you leave.
Many all-inclusive packages allow you to arrange for transportation to and from the airport. It's a good idea since you'll know your ride is secured and how much the tab will be.
