Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • one box Kraft macaroni and cheese in different shapes
  • Waxed paper
  • Egg carton
  • Acrylic paints
  • Cardboard
  • Acrylic spray sealer
  • Craft glue
  • Picture frames
  1. Step 1

Pick through the macaroni shapes to choose the ones you want to use. You can use ordinary macaroni but the Kraft macaroni's come in different fun shapes.

  2. Step 2

Lay the macaroni out on a sheet of waxed paper. Cut the egg carton into 12 small wells. Squirt a small amount of paint into an egg cup. Dip a macaroni into it and set it on the waxed paper to dry. You don't need to cover the entire macaroni piece at this point.

  3. Step 3

When the macaroni dries, dip the rest of it into the paint. Repeat this process to finish all the macaroni in the colors you wish to use.

  4. Step 4

Take the dried macaroni pieces outside and lay them out on a piece of cardboard. Spray lightly with the acrylic spray sealer. Let them dry. Turn them over and spray the other side of the macaroni and let that side dry.

  5. Step 5

Put a light coating of craft glue on one side of a picture frame. Place colored macaronis on the glue. Work your way around the frame gluing one edge at a time. Make sure the macaroni doesn't seal the opening to the picture frame or interfere with it setting on a tabletop.

  6. Step 6

Add beads and glitter if you want. Or add any other trims. Set the picture frame aside to dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Step four should be done by an adult. If you have small children doing this project, you may want to have an adult do Steps one through three as well.
