Instructions
  1. Step 1

Update the anti-virus program either daily or automatically to keep your computer virus free. When the AVG anti-virus program updates, a list of current viruses is downloaded to your computer. After the download, your program has current virus info; run the virus scan and the program will check for the new viruses.

  2. Step 2

Visit the AVG website to check on the latest virus info, at the AVG Free Advisor. The threat info includes the name of the virus, the date it was released and how the virus affects your computer. You can click on the link for more info about that certain virus. The threat info page also informs you how the virus can enter your computer. The threat info page shows links to your operating system manufacturer, if necessary.

  3. Step 3

Check the virus encyclopedia at the AVG Free Advisor for more info about viruses. Type in the name of a virus and information will be shown giving the type of virus it is, how it affects the computer, names and aliases of the virus and removal help. The virus encyclopedia also gives tips and the known "trick" effects of the virus. The virus encyclopedia gives you info about what files can be affected and protocols to repair it.
