Use a New Native Baby Carrier

As baby-wearing becomes more and more popular with parents and caretakers, the New Native Baby Carrier caters to an ever-growing niche market. The New Native Baby Carrier is a versatile baby sling and soft carrier at the same time. The New Native Carrier allows the traditional cradle hold as well as carrying toddlers on parents' hips. Here are the basics for using a New Native Baby Carrier.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a New Native Baby Carrier, new or used, online. The New Native Inc. website features discounted New Native Baby Carriers as well as their regular line of slings.

    • 2

Start with the basic Cradle Carry with your infant in the New Native baby carrier. This is the simplest position to learn; however, if you are beginning with an older baby or young toddler, you'll need to start with a more advanced carry, such as the Hip Carry.

    • 3

Fold the New Native Baby Carrier properly, forming a pouch at the bottom of the sling and the opening at the top.

    • 4

Place the sling over your arm and over your head, seam up. Position the New Native carrier along your chest.

    • 5

Lower your baby into the New Native baby carrier, using one arm to hold open the fabric while the other positions baby gently into the carrier.

    • 6

Adjust the fabric and your baby as necessary to find a comfortable fit in the New Native carrier.

Tips & Warnings

  • Learn one baby carrier position at a time and become accustomed to it before trying to learn something else. Avoid frustration by practicing the holding position several times.

  • Always ensure that your baby has a clear passage of breathable air.

I have one of these carriers and they are wonderful when you get them adjusted just right....we went recently to St. Augustine and I carried my son with me the whole couple-mile walk and the next day I wasn't sore at all really. Well, just a little but for a one year old that's good! I was hoping to hear more about the hip carry position though because its not that well explained in the instructions the sling comes with so I just wanted to see if there's anything i could be doing better, to make it more comfortable for me and my son. They do work well though, i would encourage any mother to buy them!
