1. Visit the Blogcatalog website and navigate the various links to become familiar with the site. Visit the popular blogs and communities to get a feel for the blogs.

2. Register a blog by clicking on the "Submit" button and filling out the form. Include a blog RSS feed and blog website in the form.

3. Select a user name. The user name will be displayed in the profile and on the widgets used by the blogs.

4. Create a profile by filling in the form and adding personal information. Readers will be able to click on the profile and learn about the blog owner and the blog summary. Make the profile attractive to readers.

5. Upload a picture or avatar to be included in the profile. The picture or avatar will appear in the widgets that are displayed on blogs.

6. Create tags that describe the blog and the blog categories. Users will be able to search for the blog using the identifying tags.

7. Visit other Blogcatalog members, and read the blogs. The more blogs that are visited, the higher the probability that visitors will return the favor.
