Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pre-shave oil
  • Shaving brush
  • Shaving cream
  • A helper
  1. Step 1

Take a hot bath or shower to open up your pores and pull hair out from the skin. If you don't do this, you may have stubble shortly after you shave.

  2. Step 2

Put pre-shave oil onto your back. This protects your skin by putting a protective layer between the skin and your razor and also allows the razor to glide easily over the skin.

  3. Step 3

Dip a wet shaving brush into a good shaving cream. The motion of the brush along the back will lift the hair up off the skin and prepare it for shaving.

  4. Step 4

Lather the back with the brush and the shaving cream. Get it really sudsy before you begin to shave.

  5. Step 5

Ask a helper to shave your back in long careful strokes, rinsing the blade often.

  6. Step 6

Take another shower to rinse off all hair and remaining shaving cream.

  7. Step 7

Moisturize your back with just a bit of the oil to keep skin smooth and soft.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also find long-handled razors online that you can purchase that were designed just for the purpose of shaving your back yourself.
  • Rinsing the blade is important in order to get a good close shave.
  • Don't rush as you shave because, in doing so, you can cut the skin.
