Peel chicken skin by first running the raw chicken pieces under warm water in your kitchen sink. Cold chicken is difficult to handle. It's so cold on your hands that it makes it difficult to hold while you try to peel the skin. Running each piece under warm water makes it easier.

Look at the piece of chicken you're trying to peel. You can usually see a lumped piece of skin that hangs slightly off the edge. Grab this bump of skin between your thumb and forefinger while you firmly grasp the other end of the chicken piece. Pull with a strong tugging motion.

3
Use a sharp knife as you peel chicken skin. After you've started peeling the skin away by pulling on the lumped part, use your sharp knife to cut across the skin horizontally. Use a back and forth motion. This helps the skin to release more easily.

Cut a whole raw chicken laying breast-side up on a cutting board to get it ready to peel the chicken skin away. Use a sharp knife and cut the skin between the thighs and the chicken's body. Hold a leg of the chicken in each hand and lift the chicken off of the cutting board. Bend the legs back as you lift the chicken.

5
Keep bending the legs of the chicken back until the bones break at the joints. Once the leg joints of a raw chicken are broken, run your sharp knife across the skin and it will be easier to peel the skin away.
