Step 1
Locate an experienced certified Thai massage instructor.
-
Step 2
Sign up for a Thai massage therapy session. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for the session. Yoga exercise outfits and breathable exercise clothes would work well for Thai massage.
-
Step 3
Inform the Thai massage therapist that the goal of the session is to reduce tension. The therapist will be able to apply acupressure and massage in areas of the body that are displaying tension.
-
Step 4
Clear the mind during the session, and focus on breathing. Release negative thoughts from the mind, and let go of issues that are associated with tension.
-
Step 5
Continue to receive regular Thai massage therapy sessions to relieve tension. The Thai philosophy encompasses kindness, joy, compassion and equanimity. Leave each session feeling relaxed and open to those four states of mind.
-
Step 6
Decline future sessions with a Thai massage therapist if the session leaves you uncomfortable or increases your tension. Find another therapist if that happens.
