Type in all the required information. Some contests simply ask for your name, address and email address. Make sure you fill in all the required information or your ballot may be thrown out.

Follow the rules. If it says to enter only once, don't try different names with the same email address. You may disqualify yourself. Check the dates so that you don't miss the deadlines.

Check your typing if you are writing an essay. Look for typos and grammatical errors. Save a copy of your entry. Check that all your contact information is typed correctly or the company won't be able to contact you if you win.
