Williamsburg, located in the Tidewater region of southeast Virginia, was once the capital city of colonial Virginia. Today, the area is home to Colonial Williamsburg, a living history museum with restored 18th century buildings, authentic taverns and costumed docents that make the past come alive. Williamsburg is also home to the College of William and Mary College, Busch Gardens and some of the best golf courses in the southeast. Read on to learn more.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit a Virginia bed and breakfast website. One of the easiest ways to find a bed and breakfast inn in the Williamsburg area is to consult one of the several websites that catalog Virginia bed and breakfast inns. Among the best of these are InnVirginia.com and BBOnline.com.

  2. Step 2

Consult a Virginia travel agent. Another way to find Williamsburg bed and breakfast inns is to consult a travel agent that either based in the Tidewater area or well-versed with that region. Because he or she deals with travel on a daily basis, a travel agent is in a perfect spot to learn about new properties and specials as soon as they become available.

  3. Step 3

Ask for recommendations. Don't be shy about asking your friends, co-workers and family for recommendations on Williamsburg bed and breakfasts. If you know someone that's just returned from the Tidewater area, ask them where they stayed and how they enjoyed it.

  4. Step 4

Contact Williamsburg Reservations. Though not technically bed and breakfasts, Colonial Williamsburg owns a collection of one to three-bedroom houses in the restored area that they rent out on a nightly basis to visitors. For information and reservations, call (800) HISTORY.
