Step 1
Connect the Wi-Fi adapter to the ethernet port. Xbox also lets you connect a WiFi game adapter to the USB port.
-
Step 2
Power up the Xbox. Scroll to the screen that features wireless settings. To do this go to "Settings," "Network Settings," "Advanced," "Wireless" and "Settings."
-
Step 3
Match the network name on the Xbox to the name of the wireless router. If SSID broadcast is activated on your wireless router service then you can select it. If it isn't installed then choose "Specify Unlisted Network" and enter it in.
-
Step 4
Choose "Infrastructure" as the "Network Mode." This is the mode that wireless routers use.
-
Step 5
Program the "Security Type" to resemble your wireless routers settings. You will use the exact encryption code as that of the router. If you use WPA encryption on your router you will need to disable it as it is incompatible with Xbox.
-
Step 6
Save the inputted selections and make sure that everything works. Look for a message that says the Xbox has connected to the WiFi network.
