When looking at emails that are received a person will not see the whole header unless they look for the source of the message. To add custom headers in Eudora you first have to configure your email to show extended headers. From here you can customize it with a header of your choice. Follow these steps to learn how to add custom headers to emails in Eudora.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Open your Eudora email program. Do this by double clicking on the Eudora icon on your desktop or clicking on "Start" and locating Eudora.
Step2
Click on "Tools" from the tool bar in the Eudora program. Select "Options" from the drop down menu. The "Options" dialogue box will pop up.
Step3
Locate the "Category" list on the left hand side of the dialogue box. Double click on "Fonts & Display" to continue.
Step4
Select the check box option that says "Show all headers (even the ugly ones)." This allows all headers to show to the recipient. When you add your custom header it can now be seen by the recipient.
Step5
Customize your header by clicking on "Tools" then "Options" again. Select "Edit the Extra Headers X." Type your custom header separating multiple headers with "\r\n."

Tips & Warnings

  • You will have to program your email to show custom headers before you send each email as it will default back to hide the headers. This is because not every recipient will want to see the gibberish attached to received emails.
