Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Vacuum all walls prior to cleaning them in order to remove dust particles.

  2. Step 2

Prepare two buckets for cleaning your matte finished walls, one with a mild detergent and water solution and one with clean water to rinse the walls.

  3. Step 3

Wash matte finished walls with a clean sponge and the mild detergent and water mixture. Use gentle strokes with the sponge, working from bottom, up. This should prevent the detergent mixture from running and streaking the wall, which can be difficult to eliminate.

  4. Step 4

Wipe the walls lightly because matte finishes have a propensity to wash off easily. Therefore, it is wise to keep some extra matte finish on hand.

  5. Step 5

Use the clean water and another clean sponge to rinse the matte finished walls. Use soft cloths to soak up any extra wetness from rinsing the walls.

  6. Step 6

Continue the process of cleaning all walls with the mild detergent and water mixture followed by rinsing with clean water. Routinely cleaning your walls keeps the matte finish looking bright and postpones the need to clean your walls with a stronger cleaning solution.
